Listener: Passing laws as a measure of conservatism, effectiveness

Pratt,

I heard some mention yesterday about how few bills (laws) Neugebauer has written or sponsored.   I’m not pro or for Randy, but I think the notion that the more bills a Congressman is a part of, the better job he’s doing is TOTALLY WRONG.

In a country where the government is TOTALLY out-of-control, Leviathan, monster enormous, the ultimate goal of all conservatives should be to tear the thing down (in an orderly fashion, of course), and return to our Constitutional roots of limited government, states-rights, individual freedom…

Therefore, NOT writing or sponsoring bills is a PLUS in my mind, (Although I don’t know if that’s what motivates Randy).  Even a bill that tries to address and fix the unintended consequences of all the other stupid bills and government programs we currently have just adds to the problem, because it will probably just eventually result in other unintended consequences.  There are exceptions, like tort-reform bills that try to rein in some of the excesses, but in general, the fewer laws, the better.  I always think government shutdowns and Congress not being in session are good things. Things not getting any worse is a better alternative.

Although it’s difficult to imagine it happening, the concepts put forward by Mark Levin in “The Liberty Amendments” ought to be our goal, and we should be looking for candidates who are committed to it – but that kinda means putting themselves out of a job.

Thanks for doing everything you do to fight the bullcrap that is taking over America .

Pratt Note: It was a press release from the Dr. Donald May campaign in which May’s campaign official criticized Neugebauer for passing very little legislation.
