The news of Texas covered today includes:

Our Lone Star story of the day: Lubbock faces a pro-marijuana use proposition (Prop. A) on the May 4th ballot. What of all the libertarian and other promises of the benefits of legal weed? Three words: Up in smoke.

Read: Americans are watching legal weed’s promise go up in smoke.

Our Lone Star story of the day is sponsored by Allied Compliance Services providing the best service in DOT, business and personal drug and alcohol testing since 1995.

The Texas Supreme Court has issued a temporary block on Harris County’s lottery-style “guaranteed income” welfare scheme.
