At about 5 a.m. on Sunday morning, police received a call about a shooting in far north Dallas at an apartment complex off of Walnut Street.
Dallas police allege that Nickolaus Benitez, 46, attempted to break into an apartment but was foiled when the resident, a prepared True Texan, shot Benitez.
After a trip to hospital for treatment, Benitez was charged with burglary of a habitation with assault.
All the better for Dallas County and, all the better for Texas!
