The news of Texas covered today includes:
Our Lone Star story of the day: The Washington, DC border bill talk is exemplary of how most career politicians, both Democrats and Republicans, think alike, wrongly. To them it’s always “pass a bill” but passing bills is often no solution to problems at all. What matters is what is in the bills and what those laws do but that is always of secondary interest to swamp-swimmers. Their interest is in solving, not the border problem, but the political problem that stems from the border crisis. As with most issues, they want to “pass a bill” so that it temporarily takes the issue off of the political burner for whatever election is upcoming. Some stories used in today’s lesson:

- Border Agents Nabbed 50 Illegal Aliens On Terror Watchlist In Last Three Months – note: “Between fiscal years 2017 and 2020, there were 30 encounters of terror watchlisted individuals by Border Patrol, according to federal data. In fiscal year 2023, there were 172.” And, 50 already in the first quarter of this FY.

Texas Manufacturing Outlook Survey: Contraction again.
Like RINO Rep. Glenn Rogers, San Angelo’s longtime RINO state Rep. Drew Darby caught lying to voters claiming Abbott’s endorsement when, in fact, Abbott endorsed his opponent Stormy Bradley. UPDATE: Abbott’s campaign has sent a cease and desist letter to Darby!
And in the Rogers campaign, a school principal backer shows why we need the clampdown on people using public resources for electioneering.
