Dallas’ mayor switches to GOP | TTU’s racial segregation thwarted by anti-DEI law | Rig count falls – Pratt on Texas 9/22/2023

The news of Texas covered today includes:

Our Lone Star story of the day: Big political news from Big D: Saying “American cities need Republicans,” Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson announces his switch to the Republican Party in the pages of today’s Wall Street Journal. Johnson lists solid reasons for his switch and Texas Democrats are furious. The Texas Democratic Party responded with “hate speech” against the black, male mayor – at least that’s what Dems would call it if the words came from Republicans.

Our Lone Star story of the day is sponsored by Allied Compliance Services providing the best service in DOT, business and personal drug and alcohol testing since 1995.

Texas Tech’s shameful reintroduction of racial segregation thwarted by anti-DEI law and one student decries the move as she favors DEI’s new form of segregation and lowered expectations for select, Left-favored minorities.

The Texas border with Mexico is again dominating the news. Empirically Operation Lone Star is not making any significant dent in illegal crossings, and crossers go right through the Texas razor wire, so why not scale back the expensive theater security and focus on what is working: Moving these folks the feds release to other parts of the county in a much higher volume.
