Big Texas cities sue to stop HB2127; interesting is law’s similarity to Sanctuary City ordinances – Pratt on Texas 8/11/2023

The news of Texas covered today includes:

Our Lone Star story of the day: Houston,, other cities, have sued the state over Rep. Burrows’ Regulatory Consistency Act. They stupidly call it the “Death Star Bill” but it doesn’t kill anything other than city ordinances that attempt to regulate things that the state regulates.

The state has now put forth arguments, in an effort for dismissal of the case, and the interesting thing is how the bill was constructed using the novel enforcement method put forth in the model Sanctuary City for the Unborn ordinance.

Our Lone Star story of the day is sponsored by Allied Compliance Services providing the best service in DOT, business and personal drug and alcohol testing since 1995.

No Joke: Oregon SecState BARS Republicans From Running For Re-Election. The lesson, with this story and a huge number of others, is that Texas Republican House Speakers Straus, Bonnen, Phelan are simply stupid idiots when they and their backer cabals argue that we must hand power to Democrats and not punish them for leaving the state on the idea that if the tables were turned such across-the-aisle kindness would be given in the other direction.

Leftist media awakens to the effective nature of Texas’ bussing illegal aliens to big Democrat run cities.
