- Coronavirus related
- Texas COVID-19 situation report for 6/25/2020 (pdf) – 2,249 deaths in Q1 plus almost all of Q2. Official Texas 2018/19 flu season P&I deaths were 9249 by end of July last year, over 10,095 for the annual season. By the way, the # tested in Texas is now a whopping 1,805,642.
- Abbott bans elective surgeries in 4 Texas counties, puts ‘pause’ on further reopenings, more – can these people ever learn? These hospital services bans are more dangerous than a virus.
- Governor: Texas Hits 5,000 New Virus Cases for First Time – “cases” are not important only the numbers requiring medical intervention and those numbers, as percentage of cases, have fallen massively. We are now testing tons of people who were not even eligible for tests before, the asymptomatic, for sports programs and similar.
- COVID-19 numbers in Texas justify no more restrictions, none. – this is still true as “cases” are not important when way over 90% of those are not serious illnesses. The fatality rate is not even near 50% of the annual flu death rate.

- CDC director says COVID-19 infections likely 10 times higher than official numbers this is why studies that just look at numbers with such an unsure denominator (# infected) are so worthless.
- New study claims COVID-19 spreads airborn and wearing face masks significantly reduces spread – Note the correlative-only study doesn’t actually test the efficacy of masks, it simply examines (questionable) data on spread in China, Italy and New York City and concludes such data supports the use of masks. Also, while researchers present the size of the aerosolized virus particles, they do not address the evidence that porous masks do not significantly reduce the transmission of said particles through masks – it is simply ignored. The study is solely correlative to infection rates and assumes that hard hit areas with swift peaks do not normally come down quickly after a peak.
- Correlative studies should always be highly suspect but in this case the one should be especially skeptical as the infection data used has already been subject to legitimate criticism (i.e. China lied, etc.) – How the press says it: A&M prof: Science backs up mask wearing
