Pratt,
I can’t blame Lubbock Business Chamber President-for-life Eddie McBride looking to get his chamber members a “piece of the Federal pie” [letter to editor] but you have to ask yourself – how did our communities get this way in the first place – having to bow and scrape to DC with our hands out?
Maybe if business chamber presidents across the state and country had leaned on city and county officials to keep all business open – even a little bit opened – our economy would be in better shape. Instead, Chamber apparatchiks took the easy way out and bedded down with tyrannical elected officials and waited for the feds to deliver room service.
