TX19: Arrington gets it right, about himself

I have to give Texas 19th Congressional District candidate Jodey Arrington credit for telling the truth in his new round of advertisements. Here’s Arrington in his own words:

Yes, Jodey Arrington is right, “career politicians will say anything, whether it’s true or not, it’s the Washington way.” And there’s no candidate in the Texas 19 race who would know this more than Jodey Arrington who is the only lifelong politician in the race; the only Washington, DC-insider in the race, and; the only man in the race whose personal income has come from politics.

Jodey Arrington who is the only lifelong politician in the race; the only Washington, DC-insider in the race, and; the only man in the race whose personal income has come from politics.

The clearest way to sum up the current message out of the Arrington for Congress campaign is this: It doesn’t matter if all the charges against me are true, my opponent is an SOB for telling you about them.  Jodey’s running the classic campaign of the charlatan: Claim everyone else is what he is.

Glen Robertson has spent his entire life in the private-sector as a successful small businessman. Robertson has been living, working, and serving his neighbors Texas’ 19th District for decades, he’s an open book and a man willing to live with, work with, and listen to his neighbors.

…the current message out of the Arrington for Congress campaign is this: It doesn’t matter if all the charges against me are true, my opponent is an SOB for telling you about them.

Arrington, who is willing to “say anything, whether it’s true or not,” has lived his adult life in Austin and Washington, DC and he’ll do and say just about anything to get back out of West Texas and to the Washington social scene because he said himself, he “works well in that environment.”

  1. I personally reviewed Mr. Arrington’s online information and concluded that he truly is fitted with DC insider tags.

Yes, and did you notice that nothing the former regents wrote refutes or disputes the facts made by the Roberston ad? Did you bother to notice that? The facts are not in dispute, they simply try to absolve Arrington of an responsiblity. But the problem for Arrington is that he has taken credit for the growth at Texas Tech (some of it from illegal aliens by the way) and other positives that he had no direct control over. He can’t have it both ways – well, he can with some people it is clear.

Actually, they completely refuted Glen’s claims with the facts that Arrington had nothing to do with general tuition numbers or the in-state rates granted to illegals. This is another failed straw-man attempt by the Robertson campaign.

So Jodey Arrington didn’t spend $90K on office accoutrements? What an awesome steward of the taxpayer he is, he’ll sure get to work “cutting” the budget.
