Listener email on Rep. Neugebauer’s vote for Boehner

Just where did our own Randy N stand? Can’t get rid of Joe Strauss or John Boehner. What is the matter with our elected officials who  campaign on being constitutional & conservative?

I responded by pointing out that Randy Neugebauer said in advance, on KFYO, that he was going to vote for Boehner.

Sharing the frustration that many of you have, Kim replied with:

I don’t want you to think I am crazy Robert.  I assume  Randy also voted for the $1.1 Trillion spending bill he did not read??? Am I wrong or is West Texas more conservative than what Randy votes?  How does such a strong conservative district end up with a moderate rep? If I am seeing this wrong please tell me. I knew how my (D) rep would vote before we moved here. I am astonished at how my rep in conservative w. Tx isn’t a lock for his constituents he is a lock for the RINO establishment.  Am I the only one who says this to you?

Actually Rep. Neugebauer voted against the so-called Cromnibus but, and it’s a big “but”, he voted for the rule that allowed it to come forward and then be passed. Thus his “no” vote rings quite hollow.

As to conservatism, here is my thought about such in relation to Neugebauer and others: I’m not sure the district is “more conservative” per se. But, I think if voters were more uniformly informed on the issues they would more clearly see that Randy is not as much of a fighter for conservatism as many believe he is and as he makes himself out to be.
