- City of Lubbock Purchases Omni Building – it may surprise some but I’m in favor of this and spending the appropriate funds to make it a fine facility for police and other city departments – I think it would make a good city hall too. No matter what people tell you, it costs less to renovate and the costs of having a slum downtown may be more hidden but they are great. Taking the high rise off the skyline is not a good move either.
