One more ACA observence I have not heard any discussion on personally … but admittedly I may have missed it.
Is it not an irony that the Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights, who are responsible for enforcing the PHI and ePHI Privacy and Security Rules under HIPAA and Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act are part of the agency in the spotlight for security issues and surrounding the rollout of the Affordable Care Act enrollment website and improper dissemination of personal information?
These folks are the ones responsible for enforcement of the privacy laws surrounding personal health information and sue organizations and businesses alike for privacy violations. How can this agency, of all agencies, not get the security issues right on healthcare related data and personal health information?
Please discuss it topically if you attach value, but do not identify me personally if you do. I am just a listener… Keep up the good work
