Republican Nominees for County Commissioner Endorse Gary Boren for County

Via press release:

Gary Boren

The two Republicans running for County Commissioner who swept to unprecedented victories in the March Republican primary have endorsed Gary Boren to be the new Lubbock County Judge.

Boren led the field in the race for retiring County Judge Tom Head’s position with nearly 47% of the vote in Round One of the voting.  The Republican Runoff election is Tuesday, May 22nd with Early Voting now underway.

Boren said he was thrilled and honored to receive this support and that his election would allow Conservative priorities and principles to be implemented starting in January.

“For too long our priorities in county government have been out of whack.  With Jason, Chad and I working as a team, we make taxpayers come first, we can give Sheriff Rowe the tools he needs to fight drug trafficking as well as human trafficking and we can end County Commissioners giving themselves raises while voting to raise property taxes at the same time,” Boren stated.

Jason Corley, Republican nominee for County Commissioner Precinct 2 said, “Lubbock County Voters you have a choice, for the first time we can have a true conservative majority on the Lubbock County Commissioner’s Court if you elect the proven conservative Gary Boren as County Judge.”

Chad Seay, Republican nominee for County Commissioner Precinct 4 stated, “Lubbock County needs conservative businessman Gary Boren as Lubbock County Judge. Myself, along with Jason Corley and Gary Boren as County Judge will be the first conservative majority on the Lubbock County Commissioner’s Court.”

Gary Boren, “ I appreciate the confidence in me and my issues that our Republican Commissioner’s Court Nominees have expressed. Together we can fight against excessive elected official’s pay raises, stop wasting taxpayer money lobbying in Austin so voters can’t rollback taxes and finally we will re-build the public’s trust by keeping our word.”

The race for Lubbock County Judge is the only Republican Runoff race in the Tuesday, May 22nd election.  Boren is a local businessman who has also served as an LISD Trustee and a member of the Lubbock City Council where he never voted to raise taxes and passed the Property Tax Freeze for those 65 and over or disabled.
