Pratt election recommendations; Dems don’t offer much.

Early voting in Texas for the 2014 General Election begins Monday the 20th and runs through Halloween, 31 October. Election Day is Tuesday, 4 November.

From the top to the bottom of the ballot there are no perfect people or candidates for any office. But, there are some who are far better than their challengers.

Take the race for Texas Attorney General for example. The Democrat is racking up liberal newspaper endorsements while openly telling us that he would not do the job. He says he would not sue the Federal Government in most cases when it steps beyond its authority to push Texas around. He says he wouldn’t aggressively push cases defending the laws of Texas just because he, as a liberal Democrat, disagrees with the Legislature.

Or, look at the race for Texas Comptroller. In that race the Democrat is running ads in big cities essentially making fun of the Republican nominee’s family back ground in farming and agri-business as if such disqualifies a person from having business skills.

From the top to the bottom, I recommend a straight ticket vote for Republicans this election.

At the top of the ticket you’ve two Democrats who both support making it legal to kill babies in the womb even after 20 weeks, that’s after 5 months!

The Democrat for governor can’t even tell the truth about her own life story and the Democrat for Lieutenant Governor voted against tort reform in Texas which did as much as any single action by government to improve our economy.

From the top to the bottom, I recommend a straight ticket vote for Republicans this election. None are perfect but they’re far better than what the leftwing Democrats offer.

Texas Constitutional Amendment, Proposition 1:

This will pass by a wide margin but I will be voting against it as it puts in peril the Economic Stabilization (Rainy Day) Fund by diverting a big amount that goes into that fund from oil and gas severance taxes to TxDOT. Read my full commentary on the matter here.

Note on non-partisan local-area elections:

I will be releasing an endorsement in some local non-partisan races such as that for the board of the High Plains Underground Water District #1 during the first week of early voting.

  • I fully endorse Dan Seale for Precinct 1 on the High Plains Underground Water Conservation District #1.
  • High Plains Underground Water Conservation District, Precinct 5 – vote for Ronnie Hopper.
  • Buffalo Springs Lake Board (on the ballot as Lubbock County Water Control and Improvement District No. 1), Precinct 1, I endorse incumbent Greg Lewis. His opposition to new debt for nothing more than a lake office building is an example of his Republican principals. Greg has been a longtime active volunteer in the Lubbock Co. GOP. I issue no other endorsements in for the Buffalo Springs Lake board.
