About 4:15 a.m. Saturday morning, homeowners in Mesquite were awakened by loud banging.
Upon immediate investigation, one of the residents found a man entering the home. Being a prepared True Texan by being armed, the resident shot the home invader.
Police arrived later to find the injured man outside the home. He was taken to hospital for treatment and then into custody. Mesquite police identifed him as Arthur Alonzo who is now facing a burglary of a habitation charge.
All the better for Dallas County, and all the better for Texas.
