According to Austin police and press reports, 24-year-old Dmario Antonie Jones, broke into a home in the 3 a.m. hour, last week, with the intention to commit burglary.
As he prowled around the house he entered a bedroom occupied by the homeowner and, being a True Texan Anti-Wimp, the homeowner was armed with a firearm and shot burglar Dmario Antonie Jones at that point.
At 3:51 a.m. police found Jones mortally wounded outside the house lying in the front yard. He was pronounced as being on the Eternal Dirt Nap at 4:10 a.m.
“Jones had pleaded guilty a week earlier to a state jail felony theft charge stemming from the May theft of roofing materials from a Travis County lumber yard. He was sentenced to 120 days in jail but received credit for 120 days he had already spent in custody, according to court records,” the Austin American-Statesman reported.
KEYE reported: “The homeowner was interviewed by homicide detectives and has been fully cooperative, police said. The homeowner was released, and no charges have been filed.”
All the better for Travis County, all the better for Texas.
