According to residents in an East Houston neighborhood, a homeless bum has been repeatedly going through their backyards and on Wednesday, about 8 p.m., he was caught in a backyard by a homeowner and seen by a neighbor.
The homeowner confronted the bum about the trespassing in an attempt to get him to leave, which he did, but then, the bum returned leading to a second confrontation. In this second confrontation the bum physically attacked the homeowner, who being properly armed, used his handgun to neutralize the threat.
Police had already been called for the original disturbance. Once they arrived and learned what had happened, a search ended in finding the menacing man dead in a nearby ditch.
All the better for Harris County, and all the better for Texas.
