Anti-Wimp: 16-year-old’s armed robbery effort gets him killed

About 7 p.m. on Monday, January 7th, police in Carrollton received a call regarding a person with a weapon on Heads Lane. Just after that call, police received another call from a mother saying her son had been shot.

By the time police responded, the teenager had been taken to a local hospital and died.

Police say their investigation indicates that a shooting happened in the road between occupants of two vehicles. One vehicle was occupied by the 16-year-old who died along with four other teens and the other vehicle was occupied by a 20-year-old local resident.

Interviews determined that the group planned to meet the 20-year-old pretending to sell him drugs but actually planned to rob him. The teen now on the Eternal Dirt Nap is said to have shown a firearm at which time the 20-year-old acted in self defense, pulling his own weapon and shooting the would-be armed robber.

The man the teens planned to rob who acted in self-defense has not been charged.

All the better for Carrollton and all the better for Texas!

More.
