The news of Texas covered today includes:
Our Lone Star story of the day: National and Texas Democrats have already overplayed their hand on Texas Congressional redistricting and the Lefty show has just raised its curtain. The truth is is opposite of this headline: Texas Republicans struggle to defend redistricting as hearings grow contentious. Almost all attendance was from the shock troops of the Leftist fringe of the Democrat Party. Those people, and many of the office holders, were so “nasty” to committee members that it has bolstered their desire to move aggressively with the redistricting effort.
A new proposed map has been released and it could give Texas Republicans five more seats (Dems five fewer) in the U.S. House – sources say the maps were easy to draw. What that really shows is that Republican leadership was too weak and gave away to many seats to Democrats in the last redistricting.
