The news of Texas covered today includes:
Our Lone Star story of the day: A natural disaster hit Texas at just the wrong time on the calendar and wrong time of day from our perspective. The disaster is already exposing who are the real adherents of “hate” and our arrogance that we can be “in control.” We are not in control. Some go dark at such times, others reflect the light of Christ that testify to our capability to go good. I want to thank and celebrate the Christian faith of Tavia Hunt, wife of the owner of the Kansas City Chiefs, for her witness at this terrible time (click to read.).
Some of the stories I mentioned today are:
- Texas flooding: Death toll in Kerr County rises to 75, as Camp Mystic confirms loss of 27 campers. State death total is 82.
- Why Texas Hill Country, where a devastating flood killed dozens, is one of the deadliest places in the US for flash flooding – hint, it’s not because politicians or Republicans want people to die.
- Trump signs disaster declaration due to major flooding in Texas; coming to Texas “probably” Friday.
- From climate change moron Chris Tomlinson: Guadalupe River flood deaths were entirely preventable. Really? Entirely preventable?
