The fact is that previous administrations have let the press insiders, the correspondents association, decide who does and does not have White House credentials and access to the press room, etc. This insider dealing has ensured that conservative leaning press outlets, including some with very large audiences, have not been given access. The administration taking over access granting is how it should be irrespective of the AP’s situation.
