The news of Texas covered today includes:
Our Lone Star story of the day: Are local TV stations being completely honest with you when they gin up anger and tell you the local cable, or satellite, or internet TV provider is “dropping” their channel? No, they are not telling you the whole truth and are in many cases spinning the issue opposite of truth. It is rarely the cable provider dropping the channel, in almost all cases it is the local station refusing the cable company permission for retransmission of the channel because it will not cough up ever more money to do so – which just gets passed right along to you in your cable or satellite TV bill.
Wikipedia isn’t great but the top part of this entry will give you a basic idea of what is going on and how it got started.
Our Lone Star story of the day is sponsored by Allied Compliance Services providing the best service in DOT, business and personal drug and alcohol testing since 1995.
A Big Win: In victory for gun rights, ATF reverses illegal “zero tolerance” policy for revoking gun store licenses.
