Dustin Burrows created the BurrowCrat Coalition to advance his goal of becoming Texas House Speaker and in so doing whacked at the hornets’ nest of Texas G.O.P. politics. When you do such for no discernible reason other than self-advancement, you often create opposition that wouldn’t have existed otherwise – and that’s what the BurrowCrats have done: A new Texas PAC seeded with $20 million to be used to separate the Republican chaff from the grain.
A media report says that Governor Abbott will ask for even more money for his Operation Lone Star even though we were promised time and again that funding needs would be much lower if Trump policies were back in place. Legislators should say “no way!”
