A man identified as Leon Goodman, 45, of Beaumont is alleged to have attempted to steal from a Beaumont church.

A deacon with Impact Ministries, Quentin Grant, happened to arrive at the church to do some cleaning and noticed church property in the entryway. Knowing something was not right, Deacon Grant drew his firearm, entered the building, flipped a breaker that illuminated the interior, and saw Goodmanwalking toward him.

The prepared True Texan Grant ordered Goodman to the ground at gun point, called 9-1-1, and held the burglar at gun point until police arrived.

KBMT reports that Goodman had a rather lengthy list of prior convictions and is well known to local police.

All the better for Jefferson County, all the better for Texas!
