The news of Texas covered today includes:
Our Lone Star story of the day: Senate Bill 2, from the 2nd Called Session of the 88th Legislature, provides a new law that allows the public to elect 3 representatives to sit on the board the governs appraisals in counties with 75,000 or more in population. This election is coming fast and I’ll explain how it works.
Also, spurring this bit of explanation and research, I interview Jon Bruegel who is running for Place 1 on the Lubbock County appraisal board.
Our Lone Star story of the day is sponsored by Allied Compliance Services providing the best service in DOT, business and personal drug and alcohol testing since 1995.
In the second half, as promised last week, I interview our friend Ross Aten to get a review of the three days of hearings last week held by the Texas House select committee on the recent Panhandle wildfires. There is interesting information that covers a wide array of issues.
