The news of Texas covered today includes:
Our Lone Star story of the day: Two big court decisions today. The U.S. Supreme Court issues a “unanimous” decision that states cannot remove Trump, or any other federal candidate, under the insurrection clause of the 14th Amendment – it was really a 5 to 4 opinion.
The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals issued a stay against Judge Ezra’s order of last week that prevents Texas from enforcing SB4 that allows state arrests for illegally crossing the border. However, the court has put a 7-day pause on the issue to give the Supreme Court time to react.
Our Lone Star story of the day is sponsored by Allied Compliance Services providing the best service in DOT, business and personal drug and alcohol testing since 1995.
