The news of Texas covered today includes:
Our Lone Star story of the day: Turmoil takes over the Taylor County Republican Party on the eve of its conducting a primary election. Chairman Chris Carnohan and Vice Chairman Bennie Ruth Mouser have resigned effective last night, 13 February. That puts the election management in the hands of the county executive committee. I called Carnohan and he agreed to extemporaneously tell our audience what is behind the sudden resignation, from his point of view.
Our Lone Star story of the day is sponsored by Allied Compliance Services providing the best service in DOT, business and personal drug and alcohol testing since 1995.
R.I.P. – the great George Strake, one of Texas’ great Texans and a key builder of the modern, majority Republican Party in Texas.
