In the southeast Dallas area of Pleasant Grove, a resident of an apartment complex noticed people breaking into a vehicle in the parking lot. When the tenant stepped around a corner the thieves opened fire on him with a rifle.
WFAA reports that the tenant, Billy, said: “When I came around the from the corner they started shooting. So, I had to defend myself. So, I fired back.”
Police say that gunfire was exchanged during a chase.
“I’ve got three kids, and the only thing I could do was duck and shoot at the same time,” Billy told the news outlet.
According to Dallas police, a female suspect ran away on foot and a male suspect was taken to a local hospital for a gunshot wound – meaning Billy got a hit on the miscreant.
All the better for Dallas County, all the better for Texas!
