Our Lone Star story of the day: As was the case all those years ago with concealed carry and firearm law clean-up like the “traveling statute,” this legislative session may be a near constant “contact your rep. and senator” session. Why? The Leftist state press is working overtime to frighten lawmakers into avoiding culture war issues.
The Texas Tribune is going so far as to attempt to directly link anyone who protests the sexualization of children to NAZIs and others they define as members of “hate groups.” The Tribune piece takes all a step farther but is not that different from the state’s other big media outlets. It’s a no-holds-barred attack to cower timid lawmakers (of which their are many sadly) into avoiding the homosexual, CRT, and other culture war issues. (By the way, it is not new for the Left to accuse Christians in general of being horrible. Such is a base component of Marxism.)
When in Austin for the legislative session, these people are surrounded by Leftwing Austin, its media, and its culture. They will need reinforcement, bucking-up if you will, from constituents back home to get the needed jobs done in the upcoming 88th Session.
