Press trivializes/secularizes Methodist split | Twitter lessons | Phelan gets GOP nod for Speaker – Pratt on Texas 12/5/2022

The news of Texas covered today includes:

Our Lone Star story of the day: Despite claims by ignorant reporters, church denomination splits like that of the now “non-” United Methodists are NOT about secular liberal versus conservative politics. For a few maybe, but what is at stake in these battles is literally the entire truth of Christianity – that God’s Word is eternal and above all versus having a so-called “church” that is little more than a social institution guided not by God but by man’s own desires. We’ve seen enough of the latter in the Old Testament and know just what God thinks of such human disobedience. There is simply no way to read scripture, either literally or contextually, and come up with the idea that sexual immorality is not serious sin and in opposition to God’s plan for His people.

Our Lone Star story of the day is sponsored by Allied Compliance Services providing the best service in DOT, business and personal drug and alcohol testing since 1995.

The Texas House Republican Caucus met and nominated Speaker Dade Phelan to another session in the role by a secret ballot vote of 78 to 6.
