Douglas Offermann, Abilene political activist and GOP precinct chairman, joins me in a Podcast-Extra to discuss the propositions on the City of Abilene ballot including the Sanctuary City for the Unborn ordinance, bond debt, and city charter changes.
The pro-abortion and fake pro-life folk have come up with a ridiculous and novel argument: Passing the Sanctuary City for the Unborn ordinance will increase insurance costs for physicians and thus run them out of tow. First, that has not happened elsewhere including in the big medical center of Lubbock which passed the ordinance. Second, it’s an assertion with zero evidence. Third, given that abortion is now illegal under state law, how would a local ordinance that has the same prohibitions and mechanisms as state law create a situation unique to Abilene in regard to doctor malpractice insurance? It’s a false argument given to create confusion and fear.
