According to Newton County Sheriff Robert Burby, around 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday a homeowner called police saying he awakened to find an unknown naked man in his house. The homeowner told dispatchers the naked intruder was trying to steal his cat.
Being prepared with a firearm and always ready to defend his cat, the homeowner fired a shot at the invader grazing the naked man’s forearm and causing him to flee.

Sheriff’s deputy Nash arrived and saw the man running and was able to take him into custody. After being treated at a Beaumont hospital, he was taken into custody in Newton County – and no doubt provided with some clothing, probably orange or with stripes.
