Lubbock police were called to a building in the 1500 block of 50th Street at 11:02 p.m. on Wednesday, September 21, following reports of shots fired.
The initial police investigation alleges that 27-year-old Joe Anthony Flores attempted to burglarize a building and at some point was approached by the owner of the building or business. Leading to a physical altercation. The victim at some point used a firearm to shoot the burglar.
Upon arrival, officers located 27-year-old Joe Anthony Flores with serious injuries who was transported to Covenant Medical Center where he was later pronounced to have begun the eternal dirt nap.
My brother Joe wasn’t no thief and never have been Why they keep showing these lies about him and that punk that shot him needs to go ahead and tell the truth about it because if he was that scared to lose his life why not just call the cops because when was there time to grab a gun if you were fighting for your life supposedly when and if there are supposedly cameras everywhere why don’t they work for situations like this it’s not adding up or making scene there are alot of holes in the store and a loved one shot and killed without a real reason come on now at least you can do is turn yourself in and or be honest
…cause callin cops dont put cops where he is fightin they still have to drive to the place … Seriously, I’m sure it is a terrible loss for you and your family but your reasoning is extremely flawed. Calling police does not end the altercation, even if they hurry to the scene they are many minutes away during which time one can suffer serious bodily injury or death. The solution for your brother was to stay off of other people’s property – whether or not he intended to steal something. As to having time to “grab a gun,” I have one on my person and it takes about 1 to 2 seconds to get it.
