The news of Texas covered today includes:

Our Lone Star story of the day: Early voting begins today in the Texas political party primary runoff elections (Election Day is Tuesday, 24 May.) A review of my recommendations and other election news including some polling out over the weekend.

Our Lone Star story of the day is sponsored by Allied Compliance Services providing the best service in DOT, business and personal drug and alcohol testing since 1995.

An item in a statewide poll shows why local elected officials (schools, counties, cities, etc.) find it easy to mislead the public about property taxes. 60% of Democrats, 26% of Republicans, 34% of independents (overall 40%) blame “Governor Abbott and Texas legislators” for “high property taxes in Texas” when the state does not even levy any property taxes! All property taxes levied by local government officials for local government spending.

Senator Cruz gets a big win at the U.S. Supreme Court for free political speech.
