On this Good Friday I want to step back from the politics and share a fine Easter message with you that came from a ministry of the Mennonite Church:
When Jesus arose from the dead, He brought hope to every person. Through His death and paying the penalty for our sins we have the opportunity to become the children of God. We can align our lives with His will and ways.
Resurrection is always full of hope. People resurrect houses and properties. They resurrect antique cars and almost anything that can be restored. The fact is you can’t celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ without including the word restoration. His resurrection allows our lives to be restored and made new.
No matter what you may have done, or what self-destructing choices you may have made in your life, His power can restore you and bring about a personal resurrection and make all things new.
That why the Apostle Paul prayed in Philippians 3:10, “that I may know him and the power of his resurrection.” The resurrection of our Lord provides the power for our restoration.
Peter wrote these words of celebration, “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.” 1 Peter 1:3-5 NIV
We celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, son of God, and the power of His restoration in us!
