Texans should be furious at Abbott’s theater border security | Rejected ballot report raises questions – Pratt on Texas 4/7/2022

The news of Texas covered today includes:

Our Lone Star story of the day: Gov. Abbott announces another round of expensive but ineffective theater border security.

His pledge to send illegal aliens to the nation’s capitol is near a lie – it requires them to volunteer(!) for such and it’s only people already processed by the feds who are allowed to remain the country.

As to the “razor wire,” we’ve already seen this and all our people do is help the folks get through it.

Then to the vehicle safety inspections: Why in the world was this not done many years ago when we more than doubled spending on DPS specifically for the border build up? This was the type of thing we were told then Texas would be doing. Texans should be furious at Abbott playing them for fools.

Our Lone Star story of the day is sponsored by Allied Compliance Services providing the best service in DOT, business and personal drug and alcohol testing since 1995.

Big reports out on the number of mail-in ballots rejected in the Texas primary elections for not complying with new ID requirements. The disparity of the rejection rates from one large county to another raises serious questions.

Texas Court of Criminal Appeals rules 5 to 4 in favor of a Texas law on harassment by email and other electronic communications. I agree with the minority that the law interferes with freedom of speech. The case will likely move to federal courts now.
