Texas pols value big biz donations over liberty | Legislature & Abbott prove ineffectual on property tax reform – Pratt on Texas for 10/20/2021

The news of Texas covered today includes:

Our Lone Star story of the day: Headline is right: Abbott, conservatives at odds over property tax reform. And it’s not just Abbott but many weak legislators and other officials. Oh, they’ll all decry ever rising property taxes at election time but many actually support the ever growing spending by local governments who raise your property taxes. Not only do many of the elected see local government officials as their constituents, as opposed to you the voter, they support a perverted form of “local control” that says local civic cheerleaders should have full access to your family’s resources to carry out all those never ending “good ideas” that bloat local government spending. Wanting a new football stadium or a “marketing” director for a city is not the same as needing such to provide quality services to taxpayers.

Our Lone Star story of the day is sponsored by Allied Compliance Services providing the best service in DOT, business and personal drug and alcohol testing since 1995.

Great news: Amarillo’s fake Republican state senator is out! Kel Seliger says he will not run again but rest assured the Amarillo RINO crowd will recruit and fund another just like him so watch out. More campaign news.

There is demand, just see what the employees of Southwest Airlines have done, to get a state ban on vaccine mandates passed but don’t expect much more from Abbott or legislators because many of them value donations from the couldn’t-care-less-about-liberty-or-precendent business crowd more than they value the your basic human rights, liberty, or future of Texas and the country.

And more news of Texas.

  1. Local tax payers need to start demanding that our taxing entities ALL do budget cuts going forward! Not a slap in the face budget cuts, but HUGE ones!
