Gov. Kristi Noem case shows “news” media’s real business model

Pratt on Texas - copyright Pratt on Texas all rights reservedLast week on Pratt on Texas I noted that pro-Liberty governor of South Dakota Kristi Noem gave a speech in The Woodlands for Helping a Hero, a group that provides housing to severely wounded military veterans.

About the rampant ignoring of laws and state and the federal constitutions justified by the COVID-19 virus, Governor Noem said: “Listen, we have leaders right now that are overstepping their authority in a time of crisis and taking away the freedoms that these warriors have fought for… We are losing our perspective.”

Gov. Kristi Noem, South Dakota

In America today, and for the past generation or more, one is considered by the shallow and not-so-shallow Leftists in media and influencer positions to be a loon, a kook if you will, when you talk of obeisance to the Bill of Rights, Natural Rights, or constitutions in general. And not only are you seen as old fashioned and goofy, you must, if you’ve risen to any position of power or influence, be castigated until such power is destroyed.

Because of her outspoken pro-Liberty stances, Governor Noem is now a target of the nasty media attempting to imply that she killed her own grandmother because of her refusal to accept Leftist dogma on WuFlu. MSN, Yahoo News, Business Insider, and Daily Beast ran headlines implying that Noem’s 98-year-old grandmother died of COVID. She did not. She was in a nursing home and was not ill with coronavirus, even testing negative for such.

…if you’ve risen to any position of power or influence you must be castigated until such power is destroyed.

Much of the so-called news media no longer approximates a process of news gathering and reporting and an obeisance to finding and disseminating truth. Instead the business model is almost completely designed to impugn, castigate, and destroy all who disagree with Leftist dogma on most any subject.

This does not bode well for the republic.
