Olivia Tallet’s Houston Chronicle story belittles Texas Latinos

Pratt on Texas - copyright Pratt on Texas all rights reservedTexans who happen to be racial or ethnic “minorities,” isn’t it interesting how those who often claim to be your allies openly belittle your abilities and your intellect?

An election story in the Houston Chronicle by Olivia P. Tallet carried this headline: “Trump’s Latino supporters, a vocal minority, see him as a ‘Superman’.” Really?

So if you are Hispanic and support Trump you are not only “a vocal minority” of thought, you are such a childish simpleton you see Mr. Trump as a “Superman.” This, like the Democrat constant claim that registering and voting in Texas is too hard for many minorities to handle or that having to show official identification to vote is a barrier too high for minorities to overcome, is just more of the same patronizing elitist bigotry.

…you will always live lives as second-class citizens in the eyes of the patronizing liberals and Leftists until the day you stop handing them power…

What the Hispanics interviewed in Tallet’s story said was that Trump is a strong leader and expressed mainstream views such as: “We are not going with those saying that if you are a boy but feel like a girl, it’s OK to dress like a girl.” They said “they support Trump’s border wall and strong immigration policies and see him as a great businessman…”

You might think that even with the belittling headline the story itself gives voice to Hispanics who support Trump. If so, you’d be wrong. Tallet’s story introduces the subject of Latinos who support Trump briefly and then interviews Leftist Hispanics who are dismayed at such support. Tallet buried the Trump-backers’ favorable quotes at the end of the story and attached argument, presidential debate moderator style, to each.

Latinos, Texans of whatever colors and creeds the Left has deemed victims, you will always live lives as second-class citizens in the eyes of the patronizing liberals and Leftists until the day you stop handing them power – the power they use to diminish you and your abilities to have diverse ideas and viewpoints and to handle such simple things as voting as well as anyone else.
