Texas Democrats leave most important Texas job to an outside super PAC

A national Democrat super PAC called Forward Majority understands that stopping pro-Republican redistricting for the next decade in this upcoming legislative session is the most important thing the Leftist Democrats can do to begin to gain power in the Lone Star State.

Forward Majority says it plans to spend $6.2 million in 18 Texas state house races. It will only take a nine net seat gain for Democrats to take a majority in the Texas House. In the Democrat friendly 2018 mid-terms Republicans lost 12 state house seats. Most of Forward Majority’s spending will be on Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston area races.

The Democratic Party is so full of radicals and day dreamers in Texas that it has been rare to see a focus of energy on the practical things needed to rebuild their party.

The Democratic Party is so full of radicals and day dreamers in Texas that it has been rare to see a focus of energy on the practical things needed to rebuild their party. And while this is one of those rare times, one must note that it’s a outside super PAC doing the work, not Texas Democrats as they are still dreaming of winning statewide with less than credible candidates.

Texas Republicans came within a seat of losing the House the year Obama won the presidency, then rebuilt to a super majority status. For Democrats to retake the Texas House it will take Joe Biden performing extremely well in suburban areas, better than I think he will, but Democrats face a much bigger problem: The end of straight ticket voting. The under vote for races beyond president and senate will likely be much higher among Democrat voters than among Republican.

…but Democrats face a much bigger problem: The end of straight ticket voting.

Texas Democrats have this one chance, in the last election under decade-old district lines, to take advantage of Texas’ extraordinary demographic changes from growth. If Texas Democrats weren’t steering a ship of fools this would be their sole and only focus but, as you’d expect, they are leaving it to an outside PAC.
