Anti-Wimp: Armed robber picks wrong Gebo’s (Andrews)

Big 2/Fox 24 reports: According to a press release, Andrews County deputies were called to Gebo’s store around 6:45 p.m. Monday night about a robbery.

While investigating, officials learned a suspect entered and tried to rob the store at gunpoint, officials say.

The suspect, who has not been identified, pointed a gun at store employees as well as citizens before shots were fired and the suspect was struck, the release reads.

Officials say the suspect was taken to Permian Regional Medical Center with multiple gunshot wounds and later to Odessa for further treatment.

No other injuries were reported and ACSO officials say the investigation is ongoing.

“From Andrews County News: Robber Shot At Gebo’s Facing Felony Charges

“Authorities released the identity of the man who was shot Monday night while he attempted to rob Gebo’s.

“Jordan Israel Duran, 26, of Lubbock is facing first degree felony charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated robbery following the incident. Duran is in stable condition after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds. An SO press release stated Duran entered the store around 6:45 p.m. and lured an employee into a restroom where he pulled a handgun on the employee and threatened to shoot him. The suspect then tied up the employee.

“Another employee and a customer went to check on the employee and suspect and the suspect pointed his gun at them and threatened them, a press release states. The employee, who has a license to carry, drew a handgun and fired at the suspect, striking him in the abdomen. The suspect was then subdued.”
