Lunatic libs get a fight for SD14; Vote by mail effort beyond absurd

Pratt on Texas - copyright Pratt on Texas all rights reserved“Republican Don Zimmerman, a former member of the Austin City Council, made his run for Texas’ 14th Senate District official Monday. Zimmerman filed paperwork to be placed on the ballot to run for the seat that former state Sen. Kirk Watson vacated at the end of April to become the first dean of University of Houston’s Hobby School of Public Affairs. The Senate district includes the northern half of Travis County, most of Austin and all of Bastrop County,” reported the Austin American-Statesman.

It is a special election where candidates of all parties will be on the ballot together. And yes, it is a Democrat seat demographically but, that is no reason to not put up a fight and former Austin councilman Zimmerman is the man for the job. Austin’s Zimmerman is used to be surrounded by Leftwing crazies and being outnumbered by them. He will make the race fun and force issues into it that the all-liberal field would ignore.

And speaking of the lunatic Left, its battle to use the WuFlu crisis to abandon Texas election law and put in-place easy to cheat voting by mail, a new criminal complaint filed by two Dems in Dallas County takes the effort beyond absurdity. They claim that Attorney General Ken Paxton is himself committing voter fraud, or something, by reminding local officials of state law.

Paxton puts it straight in this statement:

“The integrity of our election process must be maintained, and the law established by our Legislature must be followed consistently. Unlawful expansion of mail-in voting, which is a special protection made available to Texans with actual disabilities, will only serve to undermine the security of our elections and to facilitate fraud. Fear of contracting COVID-19 does not amount to a sickness or physical condition as required by state law.”
