Not April Fools: Snitch lines & business threats: How long until violence breaks out?

[Airplane] Flights, liquor & real estate sales are essential services though. Pretty telling priorities there.”

Lubbock adopts the position of totalitarian governments by encouraging people to snitch on others.

It is all telling and so is Lubbock officials posting an official message which, in the manner of totalitarians, encourages residents to snitch on neighbors. “If you see a situation where people are breaking the Stay-At-Home Order, you are encouraged to report it to our Police Department..,” read a post on the city’s social media site.

In Wichita County we were shown a strong example of how those who crave power over others think about those striving to serve their neighbors during a trying and stressful time. It came from the self-important county judge Woody Gossom.

Gossom followed Wichita Falls attack on citizens by rushing out his own restrictions and then, in a meeting to make changes to his rushed order, he let loose with this:

“I’m not sure if they [grocery store operators] are going to rise to those occasions but it’s going to happen or drastic measures, it could be that all groceries had to be picked up or delivered, I don’t want us to get to that, cause that’s difficult to have the ability to order online and pay,” Gossom said.

Gossom

The clownish Judge Gossom is essentially threatening grocery stores with closure because he doesn’t like how they are running themselves in these trying times.

How long people are going to put up this type of thing before dangerous violence breaks out directed at those who seem to revel in their role as local tyrants?

I’m not sure what you mean by “Wichita Falls attack” on citizens. The Wichita Falls shelter-in-place restrictions have been pretty tame, and nearing that of a paper tiger. People can go about freely, and there are no travel documents required. The order relies a lot on the people, which unfortunately means trouble for the city.

The order itself was an attack and the fact that it is a “paper tiger” demonstrates that. To attempt to restrict people’s should require passing the highest bar possible. Doing so with such a low bar that the restriction are seen as a “paper tiger” should offend and anger any citizen with any sense of our constitution our history. I wonder if those out of business think all this is just a paper tiger. There are many whose income went to zero.
