GOP 7th Court of Appeals race voided, re-vote in July

From the Justice Larry Doss campaign:

Almost a month ago, I discovered that voters in two counties — Cochran and Collingsworth — could not vote in the race for the Seventh Court of Appeals because it was omitted from the ballot. The only remedy to protect voters was to file an election contest (a lawsuit). Today, we received news that the court has voided the results of the election and ordered a new election to take place. The election is currently to take place on July 14, but is subject to rescheduling as news of the COVID-19 virus develops.

The court aptly found, “In determining the result of an election, the right to vote for the candidate of their choice belongs to the voters, not the candidates. Therefore, the right and privilege of a voter to select a candidate of his or her choice trumps the rights of any candidate, and should not be impeded.”
