WOAI reports: “According to [San Antonio] police, the man walked into the Shell gas station at Culebra Road and Les Harrison Drive around 6:30 Tuesday night. Police said the man pointed a gun at the station clerk.
An employee at the gas station agreed to speak with us but wished to remain anonymous. They said two of their regular customers, who are reported to be bounty hunters, witnessed the attempted robbery.
“They saw him raise his gun at my co-worker,” the employee said. “They came in and drew their weapons and asked him to put his [the suspects gun] down. He turned and proceeded to raise his weapon at them and they shot him in the shoulder.”
Police said the alleged robbery suspect, described as a 21-year-old man, died from his gunshot wound. The employee we spoke with said they were grateful for the men who shot the suspect, saying more people need to step up when something is happening.
“That makes me feel like the bystander effect is dying off,” the employee told us. “People die because there’s bystanders or women get raped because bystanders just stand by and do nothing. a lot of people suffer from that and now that the bystander effect is almost over, it’s very good, it makes me feel comfortable to be at work right now.”
“Get a job,” the employee exclaimed. “Job, it’s called a job, it’s easy to get. If you feel like it’s not easy to get, I’m a felon, it’s easy to get one, despite your background.”
The employee who was involved in the incident is okay and cooperating with officers. The employee we spoke with said they had a piece of advise for armed robbery suspects everywhere.
“Get a job,” the employee exclaimed. “Job, it’s called a job, it’s easy to get. If you feel like it’s not easy to get, I’m a felon, it’s easy to get one, despite your background.”
