U.S. Sen. John Cornyn outraised his high-profile Democratic challenger MJ Hegar by roughly $1.5 million in the second quarter, hauling in $2.5 million,” reported the Austin American-Statesman.
Hegar, like Beto Pancho O’Rourke, was able to raise a ton of money in her election loss last year and now says she has raised over $1 million since announcing a challenge to Cornyn through the end of June.
It is odd that writers at the Statesman consider MJ Hegar “high-profile” given that outside of the Austin-area, where the Leftist woman former Air Force helicopter pilot unsuccessfully challenged a Republican member of Congress in 2018, she is likely not known at all outside Democrat Party activist circles.
The paper reported that “Cornyn’s campaign said that roughly 80% of its second-quarter donations came from Texas and almost 90% were under $200. Meanwhile, nearly 60% of Hegar’s contributions came from Texas, with 90% under $100, according to her campaign.”
That other big fundraising “high-profile” Democrat who lost last year, Beto Pancho O’Rourke, is out saying any and everything he can imagine to remain high-profile in the Dem presidential nominee quest.
The El Paso rich boy has told supporters in an email that he and his wife were both descendents of slave owners. He even wrote line: “They were able to build wealth on the backs and off the sweat of others, wealth that they would then be able to pass down to their children and their children’s children.”
So, I guess we can conclude that O’Rourke is seeking the nomination for president of the correct political party given that Democrats were the party of slavery until the upstart Republicans put an end to such.
