Texas legislators need to hear from you now on property tax reform

Pratt on TexasHappy Easter to you all: Our Lord is risen indeed!

Old millionaire socialist Bernie Sanders is to hold a rally in downtown Houston Wednesday and appear in a forum at Leftwing perpetual victim university, a.k.a. Texas Southern University, the same day with seven other radical Leftist seeking the Democrat nomination for president.

One wonders how the unified Democrat message of killing off the energy industry will go down in Houston. No doubt there will be plenty so ignorant as to think their Bayou City lives would be just fine with Bernie’s and other Dems’ anti-energy policies as I’m not sure business is where many of those who will attend Bernie’s rally directly get their paychecks from.

Last week the Texas legislative session passed the 100 day mark of its mandated 140. It is getting to be time that key bills need to be out of both chambers and on the way to conference to work out differences in order to then have the time to debate and vote on the reconciled versions.

This is not the time to let up pressure on your state reps and senators to pass meaningful property tax reform. Legislators need constant and loud pressure from you to get the job done. You need to be telling them that school districts, counties, and cities must be part of the deal and that we want a tax ratification election trigger of no more than 2.5 percent.

Now is the time to be the most vocal you have ever been with your state legislators – time to hit the phones and keyboards.

Getting a 2.5 percent tax ratification election trigger on local property taxing entities will be the most meaningful long term fundamental tax reform empowering taxpayers to keep local government growth in-check that we’ve had in at least a generation. It will pay huge dividends to taxpayers for decades to come and that is why those who want perpetual power over your money are pulling out all the stops to block these reforms.

Now is the time to be the most vocal you have ever been with your state legislators – time to hit the phones and keyboards. Find contact information here.
