There was an AP story out near the end of August in which the first sentence read: “A Texas Republican Party tweet recalling Democratic Senate hopeful Beto O’Rourke’s past arrests has triggered a partisan mugshot melee online.”
Give the AP writer credit for pointing out that Texas Democrats used the mug shot of Governor Rick Perry in that ridiculous abuse of power indictment out of Austin that was eventually thrown out of court.
The Democrat currently running for Attorney General only talks about one thing and that’s the indictment of our current A.G., Ken Paxton, but of course leaves out the political nature of that particular hit job.
Rep. Robert Francis O’Rourke
The New York Times recently wrote of Beto Pancho: “He moved from Columbia University, where he captained the crew team, to a loft in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. He played in a punk band. He found odd jobs: a publishing gig in the Bronx, another hauling art for a company called Hedley’s Humpers. And occasionally, he got into trouble — spending a night in county jail in his early 20s for attempted forcible entry (he says he jumped a fence at the University of Texas at El Paso) and was arrested three years later on a charge of drunken driving. He was not convicted in either case.”
…O’Rourke tried to leave the scene of the accident he caused while drunk but was stopped by a witness. And that thing he calls “jumping a fence” at UTEP wasn’t charged as such. It was charged by police as misdemeanor “burglary”…
And even this diminishes what actually happened. According to police records, O’Rourke tried to leave the scene of the accident he caused while drunk but was stopped by a witness. And that thing he calls “jumping a fence” at UTEP wasn’t charged as such. It was charged by police as misdemeanor “burglary” according the Austin American-Statesman.
But all-in-all, who cares?!
It seems that one’s character and one’s political philosophy doesn’t even matter to many voters who like Beto Pancho because, well they just do and that’s enough for them. Being an extremist Leftwinger who will take your money and liberty is fine with them, as long as you seem young and hip.
O’Rourke’s character & beliefs don’t matter to many voters
