Dallas police responded to a robbery call at 7-Eleven in Pleasant Grove.
According to the store’s clerk, the robber tried to take the store’s cash register, pushing the clerk away in the process. The clerk, armed with a handgun, then shot the robber in the leg.
The Dallas Morning News reports that police found the robbery suspect, Mario Luera, 32, shortly before 2 a.m. at a gas station in the 8000 block of Great Trinity Forest Way, where he had gone after he had been shot.
He was taken to Baylor University Medical Center.
