KTRK reported: “[A] retired Houston PD officer, 58, was working in his yard when he was approached by his neighbor, Harris County Sheriff’s Office said. His 20-year-old neighbor was wearing a ski mask and holding a machete. He told the retired officer that he was there to kill him, authorities reported. The officer discharged his weapon, hitting the neighbor in the stomach. The neighbor was transported by Life Flight.”
